Survivor

A few years ago our neighbor sold their house...they had a sale to sell most everything inside and out "aka" yard sale. Let's just say I should have stayed at home...my intention was to just browse and not purchase anything- that didn't happen. I bought some Amish furniture, outdoor chairs, and this gorgeous outdoor vase with the vine included that you see in the photo.

Now I don't have a green thumb, I struggle to keep plants alive...even outdoor plants.

I don't even know what type vine I bought that day I just know that it's a hardy plant that has survived four Winters thus far. It turns brown in the Fall and gives the appearance that it's dying. I need to always remember..appearances can be deceiving!

My vine is what I call my "survivor" I always wonder if it will come back the next year or if it's dead. Nevertheless, come Spring that vine begins to Spring forth! ALL my other outdoor pot planters are filled with many different annual/ perennials varieties...none survive the Winter.

I have come to the conclusion... a hardy vine along with a clay pot makes all the difference.

As I've said many times...I believe everything has a spiritual application. Jesus said, "I am the vine, ye are the branches." Think about it....If Jesus who is the vine lives in us [the clay pot] we will have growth each year--and become a survivor in ALL situations. Wow!

John 15:5 KJV

"I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing."
