Reminders-We all need them!

Do you ever put a reminder on your phone or a sticky note on the refrigerator so you don't forget to do a task? As time moves forward, (the older I get) I find I need more and more reminders so I don't forget appointments or important tasks.

As I was scrolling through YouTube I came across a gem that I had forgotten about. Six years ago this month we broke ground on property that God gave us to build a church. This video brought tears to my eyes because I was reminded of the goodness of God. Most people don't know the story behind our church so if you have a few minutes to spare I hope you will continue to read this--

There was a group of us that meet at my house I've always said, " It was a meeting that I believe was scheduled by almighty God". We discussed coming together and starting a church. The discussion included things such as where, how, the why, etc.

God immediately opened a door for us to meet. We rented one room in the old Fleetwood School building. The room was sufficient for us to meet and have service, however, we didn't have a piano, song books, chairs, and very little heat that building was so cold....I guess the best way to say it (worldly speaking) we didn't have much of anything. BUT, (spiritually) speaking God was moving in a mighty way. As we prayed, studied the word, and trusted God to provide what we needed HE showed up in a mighty way. We saw many souls accept Jesus as Lord of their life in that small room.

If I took the time to write everything that occurred it would take a book to write it all down, even a pen couldn't ink how the Holy Spirit moved, how he provided, opened doors, and sent everything needed to move forward with his plan.

Fast forward......God allowed us to buy land, he allowed us to build a church, every single time there was a need God meet the need. Like I said it would take a book to tell it all. Moreover, I have to mention just a few more blessings. God provided a baby grand piano, songs books, a sound system, pews (which we didn't think we could afford) not only did he provide the funds for the pews, he also provided enough pews for the choir. Wow!

And one more huge blessing-A steeple. We didn't have any money to purchase a steeple-pay attention-God provides! Someone (we don't know who-not affiliated with our church) put a check in the church mailbox for $10K enough to purchase the steeple.

Just a reminder. God provides. I've always said he provided what we needed from outside sources so we would always remember Jehovah Jireh. The Lord Provides.

Matthew 16:13-20 King James Version (KJV)

13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?

14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.

15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?

16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
