Year, 2020! In January I declared to myself, my family, and others this would be a good year. I wanted it to be a year of vision and purpose.
When you have your eyes checked everyone hopes to have or obtain clear vision. An ophthalmologist works to achieve visual acuity which is considered "perfect vision".
Think about it...this is the year 2020 visually speaking 20/20. What I consider to be a year of "perfect vision". Little did I know we were going to have a pandemic however, this pandemic did not catch God by surprise. He (God) has "perfect vision" yesterday, today, and forever.
Today- Palm Sunday commemorates the entrance of Jesus into Jerusalem. I want to have "perfect vision" in my mind of the entrance, absolute commemoration of why I celebrate Easter, I need to remember the death, burial, and Resurrection of my Lord Jesus Christ.
He is ALIVE!
I'm so thankful that even in the midst of this pandemic that we can still have church. Not the traditional way of meeting, yet when Jesus came into the world his entrance from the beginning was not ordinary. Hosanna in the highest!
Matthew 21:1-9 King James Version (KJV)
21 And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,
2 Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me.
3 And if any man say ought unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them.
4 All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,
5 Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.
6 And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them,
7 And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon.
8 And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way.
9 And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.
