Goodbye August "Fogs"

Goodbye August-- see you again next year! Goodbye August fogs! I have a bean in my jar for all thirty-one days of August. I really want to say, "Hello tropical islands come Winter."

If you live in the High Country then you have probably heard all about placing a bean in the jar for every fog. If it's a heavy fog you place a big bean in the jar...if it's a lighter fog a small bean in the jar. Each bean you place in the jar represents a snow in the Winter.

The folklore is a big bean means a big snow, a little bean probably means what I call a dusting...not more than a few inches. Well folks, there has been a fog every single morning at my house, at least half have been really heavy fogs. Golly! Like I said earlier, I might have to move to a warmer climate come Winter. I love the appearance of snow however, I don't like the confinement of snow covered roads and my bones hate the cold. Sigh!

Nevertheless, seasons come and seasons go. I have to keep looking forward and find the good!

Isn't it awesome how once the sun comes up the fog burns off...it dissipates.

Life is filled with what I call "fog-filled" moments, some are heavy and burdensome. When you are driving in a heavy fog it's very hard to see what's ahead. Sometimes the fog is so heavy that you are afraid to keep going because you literally can't see the road.

Many times, life brings mental fog it's hard to see and know things will get better. Like the fog that I see in the valleys each morning I remind myself when life seems filled with fog-filled strife's, "This too shall pass."

The remedy for life fogs is the Son! The Son clears [dissipates] the fog!

When he [God] comes on the scene--goodbye fog! His mercies are new every morning!

Psalm 23 KJV

"1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever."
