A seed was planted!

While I was sitting (waiting my turn) at the doctor's office I was gazing out the window trying to organize the rest of my day when I noticed a hydrangea bush outside the window.

Today was cold, rainy and windy. Most of the leaves have already fallen off all the other trees, and bushes yet this hydrangea still has green leaves. I was impressed on how alive and vibrant it looked in comparison to other bushes around it. I finally had to get up and go to the window so I could get a closer look....photo above.

I love Hydrangea's! My mind immediately ventured off into the land of cultivation. The soil type determines the color of the hydrangea. I'm thinking this soil is an alkaline soil since the leaves are pinkish.

Alkaline...hmm. I love to read anything medical so immediately my mind goes into doctor mode thinking well this plant has an alkaline soil base... so I'm guessing it's very healthy. I've read there are advantageous benefits to our body when we stay more alkaline.

My mind goes to the scripture talking about the Parable of the Sower Matthew 13:8 talks about how some seeds fell upon the good ground. This hydrangea reminded me that I need to be sowing seeds. When seeds fall they will either be devoured by fowls, spring up and eventually wilt due to much sun and shallow roots, or they will be choked out by everything around it....or they will find fertile (good) soil and thrive.

This hydrangea was a thriver!

Wow! God's creation can teach us valuable lessons! I want to be a thriver! Therefore, I have to stay in the "Word" so my soil can be cultivated, my branches pruned, and I can grow deeply rooted! Then and only then will I produce fruit...per the word!

Matthew 13 KJV "1.The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side. 2 And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he went into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore. 3 And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow; 4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up: 5 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth: 6 And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away. 7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them: 8 But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold. 9 Who hath ears to hear, let him hear."
