Last week we lost our family pet, Ms. Rory. Oh how we loved her. As I said goodbye, the words seemed so shallow. As I pondered to find words for comfort I struggled. The lump in my throat was painful, my heart experienced an ache that I could not heal. Yet, I know my pain failed in comparison to my daughter. Ms. Rory was part of her life daily for the past 10-years. All I could do was offer words of encouragement, and words of love.
The bible teaches in Psalm 150:6 "Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord."
Ms. Rory taught us many things. You see until her death I never really thought about animals being in heaven however, after seeking answers from the word I know that everything (yes even animals) that has breath can praise the Lord. God gave them that breath. When Noah entered into the ark...who do you think spoke to the animals and directed their path? It was God. He knows when a sparrow falls to the ground. So I take comfort in knowing there will be animals in heaven. God created them. I am so thankful that God's mercies are new every morning. He gives us strength to face each new day with optimism. Ms. Rory taught me to laugh, to play with enthusiasm. She also taught me how to forgive over and over.
Life throws uncontrollable situations to us..in those times we must use our words to overcome. This life is so temporary that's why it's so important to love, encourage, and live life to the full. We have living power in our mouth. Our words have the power to encourage and bring new life to any situation.
I choose to remember all the good doggy times. Ms. Rory you will never be forgotten!
I aim to use my words today to bring peace, love, and encouragement! Most importantly, I must use my words to show love again! Rory would approve!
Cancer is a robber! We must find a cure!
Isaiah 11:6 "The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them."
