Now I don't know if anyone else loves clocks but I have a fascination with them. Decorative ones are my favorite. There are small, large, wall, counter, mantle, alarm, maritime, cuckoo, outdoor, pendulum, digital and analog clocks. Honestly the list could go on and on...so many choices, styles, and shapes. My top choice for decorative purposes is the Roman Numeral clock I like the vintage-ness. Yes I know that isn't really a word; nevertheless, it works for me. It just makes me feel happy! Lol.
Growing up we had a grandfather clock, I loved the look, and enjoyed the chime during the day; however it was annoying at nighttime. Tick-tock tick-tock all night long. The more I tried to ignore that sound the louder it seemed to be.
I would guess most every adult has a clock or watch. Time is something we try to keep an eye on yet it never waits on anyone. We either want to speed it up or slow it down.
Time keeps moving! Tick-tock! No time to slow. Seconds, minutes, hours, all turn into days.
I guess clocks are a constant reminder time keeps moving forward. I have 24 hours each day. A portion of that time is used for sleep, a portion for work, that leaves a small portion of free time that I can choose what I want to do. I must use my time wisely.
"The Clock Nursery Rhyme"
There's a neat little clock,--
In the schoolroom it stands,--
And it points to the time
With its two little hands.
And may we, like the clock,
Keep a face clean and bright,
With hands ever ready
To do what is right.
The word teaches me to start my day early in the word. When I seek him I will find him!
Psalm 63:1 "O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee."
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 KJV
"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is
planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace."
