Yesterday, I found a picture on Pinterest of handmade wooden shutters that I instantly loved. After a run to the local building supply my husband and I were ready to make the shutters. Within a few hours they were assembled and ready to paint. However, dusk stopped the progress.
I awakened early this morning at the break of dawn. I just love this time of year... you wake up and it's almost completely daylight at 5:50. I have numerous tasks I need to accomplish today, "painting my shutters" being one. I told myself "Self, you can have those shutters painted and ready to install before lunch" so I hurried out of the bed or ...should I say "scurried" lol, ate breakfast, and started painting. Now to let them dry for awhile...and then finish later.
I absolutely loved the look of one coat on the shutters because the "natural color" and the "grain of the wood" still are visible. Nevertheless, I decided to go ahead and paint the second coat per the directions. They need to be weather proof. Just a few more coats...Ah!
Aren't you glad that in life we can always be creative. We have options! I'm so thankful that I can always build, re-build, paint, re-paint, or even start over! Things aren't perfect in life.
The only perfect I know is Christ!
He is the same--"yesterday, today and forever."
He came so that we might have life...and life more abundantly.
Just pick up the brush! "You can do it"
John 10:10 King James Version
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
