Have you ever wondered why we have a shadow? I have. I was standing at the sliding door looking out, as I turned I saw my shadow. My shadow extended across the floor and up the wall. As I stood gazing at my shadow I turned to the right, then to the left manipulating my shadow....Lol.
Shadows are with us all the time yet we only see them when we block rays of light.
Our shadow shows us an image of who we are-- even a distorted glimpse. As I looked at my shadow that day I thought jeez you need to work out or walk more. Then I thought, I wonder what others see. Should we care? Yes! I think we should, however, not in a way that others opinion matters but in a way that our reflection should be a reflection of the creator.
We are created in the image of Almighty God. I ask myself, " Am I a reflection of my heavenly father"? Or do I need to work on my reflection.
Life on earth is short. Even if we live to be old...life passes quickly. Peter's shadow in the Bible had a healing effect. I want my reflection/shadow to have a positive effect as well.
Because we are created in his image---Our image matters!
Genesis 1:27 King James Version (KJV)
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Psalm 144:4 King James Version (KJV)
4 Man is like to vanity: his days are as a shadow that passeth away.
Acts 5:15 King James Version (KJV) 15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.
