These shoes are made for walking and that's what they'll do. Looking at these shoes you can tell they have taken many steps. Yep they have mud on the sides, the toes are starting to show wear, and they are stained.
Through the years they have literally been put through the wringer. The expression run through the wringer refers to an antique washer. Now I don't have an antique washing machine however, these shoes have taken a few spins. Lol.
They have taken my feet on many walks, 5K runs, workouts, clogging classes, etc. Once they started looking old and worn (shabby) they became my construction work shoe. Nevertheless, they are still my favorite sneaker! Why? They have molded to fit my foot--perfect fit! I'm guessing some of you can relate.
Things don't last forever and my shoe is proof. Out with the old and in with the new---not!
I have new sneakers...actually several new pair. None take the place of my old shabby sneakers. That old familiar fit and feel doesn't get old!
I truly believe there are spiritual life lessons in all things! Even a worn shabby shoe.
The word teaches me that I need to have my feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Wow! Meaning everyday when I put on my shoes I should spread peace, love, and the gospel.
I want to shod my feet with steps of peace. I would love to have numerous shoes that are absolutely worn out because I choose to shod them daily with the mindset I will permit the Lord to direct my steps... in aspiration my shoes become shabby from walking with the Lord and doing his will. Shabby you say? I think I'll keep them.
Ephesians 6:15 "And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;"
Proverbs 16:9 "A man’s heart plans his way,
But the Lord directs his steps."
