Have you ever driven by a body of water and noticed the trees reflecting in the water? Wow! Sometimes the reflection is a perfect reflection, other times it's a distorted image.
I feel very blessed to live in the mountains of NC. I get to experience all four seasons! I can take a short drive down the road to the New River and enjoy ample reflections.
The fall foliage is getting ready to display it's beauty. The vivid colors are "eye candy" to me. Every year, I always look for the most red tree I can find. The 'reds' are my favorite.
I've said over and over...my porch has been the greatest blessing this year! Even with cooler temperatures, I like to go outside and sit on the porch in the evening. The ability to look out and see the most magnificent scenery from my porch is an indescribable feeling. Fall bestows such a gift!
The absolutes are unstoppable. Fall brings change. A transformation begins to take place daily in the foliage, mass color changes, soon the leaves begin to fall to the ground. The trees are left standing totally leafless as if they are lifeless all the beautiful fall foliage has been released from their branches. They become barren...however, I remind myself only for a season.
Everything that God created speaks to me. As I see the color change in the leaves taking place before me (daily) I remind myself I am created in the image of the most high God.
My reflection displays itself also. My reflection can be a perfect reflection of who I am or I can give others a distorted view. Sometimes there is great beauty in our reflection, other times our reflection is cold, and barren.
It takes light for reflections to be created which reminds me of scripture that says, "Jesus is the light of the world and I am supposed to be a reflection of him."
John 8:12 KJV "Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life."
Matthew 5:16 KJV "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."
You and I have similarities to Fall.
Reflections! Change!
I have a reflection! We all do!
